Following the catastrophic September 2009 floods in Georgia, PMC provided various levels of mitigation assistance to several Atlanta Metro area and North Georgia communities, namely Cobb, DeKalb, Cherokee and Chattooga Counties. PMC performed Residential Substantial Damage Estimator (RSDE) software training, damage assessment field training and RSDE data entry and database management. PMC also performed substantial damage determinations on over 300 residential properties.
FEMA HMGP application support in Town of Trion, Georgia
As part of the overall RSDE support after the 2009 floods, PMC evaluated damages on 59 residential structures in Town of Trion, Georgia. The analysis were performed on 54 apartment units on Park Avenue and five single family on Marsh Avenue, all exposed to multiple floods over the period of 80+ years since they were built. As part of the FEMA Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP), PMC completed a detailed buyout applicatioon for the Park Avenue Apartments, in close coordination with the Georgia Emergency Management Agency (GEMA).
Multi Hazard Mitigation Plan Update, Orleans Parish, Louisiana
As a subcontractor, PMC provided HAZUS-MH support in Multi Hazard Mitigation Plan update in Orleans Parish. PMC utilized HAZUS-MH Hurricane wind module to estimate peak wind gusts and associated damages for the array of probabilistic hurricane storms. The analysis also estimated functional down-times for the selected critical facilities.
